2011

I can't believe it's already 2011. I remember when it was '99 and everyone thought as soon as it hit 2000 the world was going to end. Someone else's blog (I think it was Katie's) said that it's the end of a decade...I hadn't thought about it either til she pointed that out to me.

I learned so much in 2010, and am really excited for 2011. Here are some of my goals for 2011...I am even going to print these out and hang them up where I can see them. I am hoping that will make me accomplish some of them, since I never stick to my resolutions. :)

As a Mom:
  1. My first goal is to not yell at Marlee or A. To use my calm voice when they frustrate me, and to redirect more instead of so much timeout. (Not that time out is not useful sometimes, but some days it feels like that's all I do...)
  2. To take Marlee outside every day.
  3. Go to the park more, and play more.
  4. Take 15-20 minutes of my day to do "learning time" with Marlee...where we work on specific tasks
As a crafter:
  1. I want to start and finish 10 quilts this year
  2. I want to learn how to machine quilt

As a Homemaker:
  1. Learn how to make homemade bread
  2. get into a cleaning routine and stick to it
  3. organize all of my craft stuff so I can find it
  4. bake something each week
  5. make and have some pre-made meals in the freezer all the time, so I am not tempted to eat out as often.
  6. I want to try 1 new recipe a week
  7. I want to get my student loans paid off
As me:
  1. I want to get back into shape
  2. I want to read 10 books this year
  3. I want to eat healthier
  4. I want to learn a new craft (not sure what yet...maybe knitting)
  5. I want to go on a girls weekend with my friends to just hang out and be me-not Mommy or wife for 2 days.
What are your goals or resolutions this year?

Goals.

I now remember why I don't make new years resolutions. I can't keep them. Or I can't remember them. I even had my goals written on this post, but had forgotten what they were until today when I went over to visit Cassie at Southern Domestic Goddess who is on top of her goals! She is doing awesome! Go check her out and congratulate her on her weight loss!

Anyhow, back to my goals. I have been excersizing more. Not neccessarily regularly. But I am working on it! Tomorrow is day 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. And I am also going to sign up for a 5k for either May or June (depending on if Mike wants to run with, er, ahead of me, or if he just wants to hang out with Marlee). So I will have to start training for that. Since last year I ran one but ended up walking part of it...I would really like to run all of it, and if I can't do that, then running at least more than half of it. Last year I think I ran almost 1/2 of it. But I stopped when I saw some other people walking, instead of pushing myself. So that is goal number 1 for March.

Surprisingly, our bathroom is almost complete. I just need a faucet and a mirror, but we can actually use the toilet and tomorrow after I get a plug we will be able to use the bathtub too. I can't wait to give Marlee a bath in the bathtub. I think it's going to be so fun for her since we got a lot of new toys for her from her bday party.

Oh yea, and my little pumpkin is 13 months old now. This actually happened on Friday, but apparently I was out in outter space :) Will post pictures tomorrow. Hopefully of her smiling! :)

I did get some other things started on my goals for Jan. Not everything has a home, but I am starting a 30 day spring cleaning with Clean Mamma who I can't find her blog address at the moment. But that is my goal for March. To get my whole house spit shined. I am exstatic that I am still excited about this! And although this weekend was super busy, and I didn't get anything done as far as cleaning, I am super stoked to start tomorrow! :)

I also want to read some books this month. I don't have any in mind. But I did see a few that look interesting if we have them at our library.

I also started a new bible study. The book is Created to Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl. I am super excited about it. I have already read the book, but now we are meeting each week to discuss chapters, and talk about things. :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! What are your goals for March?

Figuring it out one day at a time...
