Mission of the month

Okay, so I didn't get quite as many things done on my to-do list as I wanted, but I did get some other things finished that weren't on here. That counts, right? :)

Mission of the Month

Here are my goals for January:

Get all of little man's clothes washed for at least the first 3 months.

Mission Accomplished
I am saying this one is accomplished, even though I am not 100% sure it is...I think I may have two more boxes to wash from my sister, but as is, I have enough outfits for him to last at least 30 days without having to wear a onsie 2 times. So, I am considering it accomplished. :)

Make my friend Melinda's quilt, and mail it to her, since her baby was born last week, instead of on the 9th like he was supposed to come. :)

Mission NOT Accomplished YET
This should be completed pretty soon. I cut it all out this week, I just haven't made it back downstairs to sew it together. Then instead of me trying to quilt it I think I will have someone else do it since I have never used my new meandering foot for my sewing machine.

Sew the binding onto Marlee's quilt. And wash it so she can use it. :)

Mission Accomplished
I finished her quilt. I have to re-do the binding because it didn't work quite as well as I wanted it to after I washed it, but it is done, and she has slept with it and loves it. Now to get a picture of the finished product to post on here. :)

To do the dishes every night after dinner so I can wake up to a clean kitchen every day-and hopefully if I get into this habit, it will be just that, a habit to do even once little man comes. :)

Mission NOT Accomplished YET
I did this for the first few days. Then I slacked off. Mike has been home a lot this month during the day, so it has been harder to keep up with stuff, just because we are hanging out all day. I am much more productive when he is at work. :)

Get all of the letter of the week stuff ready for at least 2 months to start doing with Marlee on Fridays. We are going to start doing a letter a week, with a craft and then also have a little party thing on Fridays with things that start with that letter. I figure if I get this all set up BEFORE little man comes, and implemented, then I can keep going with it once he comes, so that way Marlee will have a whole day of fun things that her and I can do together. :)

Mission NOT Accomplished YET
I plan on doing this this weekend. I think I will go up to the library to print them all off. Although, it wasn't a complete loss...considering that I do have almost everything I want to do for the first 4 weeks or more all lined up. We just don't have any ink in our printer, and it's a very low priority for me, since I can get copies for way cheaper than I could buy new ink right now...so I just haven't printed it all out.

Now for February's goals....these are going to be short and sweet...
  1. Get some meals made for the freezer-which should get done next Wednesday, since I am going to do it with a friend. :)
  2. Implement the alphabet stuff with Marlee.
  3. If this little man comes in February...get settled with him. :)
  4. Get some things made for the new little man coming into our life...such as some big receiving blankets. I already have the fabric...now to just get the stuff ready sewn. I also want to make a car seat cover...
  5. Oh, and get a new car seat for him...
Speaking of car seats and strollers. If you have read my blog for a while, you know that I am kind of a stroller junkie...I have 3...well I have 2 functioning ones, and one that needs to go to the garbage since the straps broke. The stroller that I need to toss was one that the car seat fit into. I also have a double and a single jogger. But, as of right now we have to get a new car seat so I was thinking of getting either another stroller combo...but am looking at possibly getting a double. I know this seems excessive...and it prob. is, but adding the stroller isn't much more than just getting a car seat. My only question is do any of you have a sit and stand, or a tandom double stroller that would be good for when we go on our trips to Vegas, or other places, and for taking it the 2 hours to go shopping...which I can't really fit my double and all the stuff we would need when we go that 2 hour drive. Which is why I was looking at getting something smaller... Or do you think it's a wast of money because Marlee is already 3? I keep going back and forth in my brain about all of these things. Right now when we go shopping in the next town, we don't take a stroller...I just carry her, or Mike carries her if she gets tired. When we go on long trips-like our trip to Vegas, I took my old stroller because she doesn't have to be strapped in...she doesn't try to climb out. But I know with him, I won't be able to carry both of them and all that jazz.

Would love some input. :)

New year's

I am not doing resolutions this year. I don't really remember if I did them last year or not. But I am going to play along with Mamma Jenn. Each month she does a mission of the month. At the beginning of the month you get to make goals that you want to accomplish that month. It could be something as simple as cleaning out your closet to something big like de-cluttering a whole area...although it doesn't have to be about cleaning. It can be about anything. Want to join? Go on over to Mamma Jenn's and link up after you've done your post. :)  Then at the end of the month we get to tell if we got it accomplished, or if it's not quite accomplished yet. It's fun, and a good way to get some things done.

So my goals for January are:
  • Get all of little man's clothes washed for at least the first 3 months.
  • Make my friend Melinda's quilt, and mail it to her, since her baby was born last week, instead of on the 9th like he was supposed to come. :)
  • Sew the binding onto Marlee's quilt. And wash it so she can use it. :)
  • To do the dishes every night after dinner so I can wake up to a clean kitchen every day-and hopefully if I get into this habit, it will be just that, a habit to do even once little man comes. :)
  • Get all of the letter of the week stuff ready for at least 2 months to start doing with Marlee on Fridays. I have a few more things I want to write down, BUT I don't want to over whelm myself, and if I get the others done, that would be fabulous, if not, then I didn't tell you about it, so it won't matter. ;)

Mission of the month...

June's goals were apparently too lofty for me to finish. Here are June's missions as a reminder. When I get back from visiting my family, I AM going to finish Marlee's quilt. I don't have much more to do, I just need to sit down and do it.
My goals for June are now to finish Marlee's Dinosaur quilt.  That is just a preview of the beginning-the pattern was for a baby size, and since soon Marlee will be in a big girl bed, I want to make it bigger. :)

Mission NOT Accomplished YET

Get the front closet all cleaned out with all the winter stuff put into a tote downstairs. And to paint the mudroom.
Mission NOT Accomplished YET

Get all the pantry items onto the new shelf in my pantry.
Mission Accomplished

And to get Sarah's aprons done. (Which I hopefully will have done by the beginning of next week!)

Mission Accomplished

I did get half of my list done, so I guess that's not too bad. :)

We have been having a lot of fun, so I guess that's something.

July's missions are going to be simple.

Finish Marlee's quilt.
Get the hall closet cleaned out, before it's winter again. :)
Finish Marlee's room.

Mission of the Month

Mamma Jenn does a mission of the month to try to help us stay on track throughout the month with some of our goals. It can be a lot of them, or just one-it's up to you. This is supposed to help encourage each-other so join if you want! :)

My May goals were so simple, yet not finished at all. I am kinda bummed about that, but what do you do?

Here they are to refresh your memory-
  1. Getting meals in the freezer-however I have to do it! :)
    Mission NOT Accomplished YET
  2. Finishing Marlee's quilt top so I can get it quilted.
    Mission NOT Accomplished YET
  3. Get all my craft stuff-specifically fabric-all in order.
    Mission NOT Accomplished YET
  4. Make 2 more aprons. At least. They are super easy and fast, but it's the whole idea of dragging everything out and back and out and back that makes it not fun.

Mission of the month-April/May

Mamma Jenn posts a mission of the month every month. Then everyone links up for some fun support! :) So head on over if you want to make a to-do list, or just one thing, to accomplish in May. :)

Mission of the Month

I had a few things on my to-do list. I got some done, and some not even close to done. :( But it's okay, because I did get some other things done-so I guess it all works out in the end right!?

The first thing on my list was offering more vegetables to Marlee (and of course myself). I didn't end up offering her more for snacks, but I did manage to offer them more at meals which is a huge plus! Just being aware is helpful!

Mission Accomplished

Next on my list was to get Marlee's quilt finished. I actually didn't even pull it out, unfortunately. I am a little unsure about the next step, and I am scared I am going to mess it up, so I just haven't done it. But I do need to get it done, since soon she will be in a big girl bed.

Mission NOT Accomplished YET

As well as getting my fabric organized. I have it everywhere-and keep buying more-for projects but need to get them all put together, so I can figure out what all I have, and what I need. Next week-since I am watching my friends kiddo this week as a favor, I will get it done!

Mission NOT Accomplished YET

The next thing on my list was to make 2 aprons. I made 1. Wanna see???
Photobucket
But still, not a mission accomplished.

Mission NOT Accomplished YET

I DID make homemade bread for Easter. :) Yay! And it turned out fantastic!

Mission Accomplished

And I did make some freezer meals, but they are all gone already, because I didn't make them 2 times a week like planned...

Mission NOT Accomplished YET

Now for May's goals-I am going to just repost the ones I didn't accomplish and not add any more to my list, mainly because apparently I have a hard time getting them done. :)
  1. Getting meals in the freezer-however I have to do it! :)
  2. Finishing Marlee's quilt top so I can get it quilted.
  3. Get all my craft stuff-specifically fabric-all in order.
  4. Make 2 more aprons. At least. They are super easy and fast, but it's the whole idea of dragging everything out and back and out and back that makes it not fun.
What are your goals for the month? Feel free to join us over at Mamma Jenn's!

Mission of the Month

This month I am participating in Mamma Jenn's Mission of the month. I am super excited to do this, because I am hoping by putting it all in writing I will get more of it done.

Mission of the Month

So without further ado, here are my missions for the month:
  1. To offer more vegetables instead of always fruit or other things for snacks and meals.
  2. To get Marlee's quilt finished
  3. To get all of my fabric organized and put away
  4. To make at least 2 aprons
  5. To make home made bread.
  6. To make extra or another whole meal at least 2 times a week (so that I will have the meal we are going to eat, as well as a meal to go into the freezer, or for dinner the following evening. That way I can build up a stash of freezer meals, so that on those days that it's super nice outside, or I am lazy we will have a dinner already made (I will just have to warm it up) instead of going out to eat or ordering pizza.
I think that is plenty for this month. :) I am hoping to get those couple things accomplished so that I can get some new goals for next month! :)

I obviously have some other goals this month, but I am hoping that these 5 things specifically get accomplished! I have been slacking in the sewing department lately, and also in the meal planning/making the past few weeks. I think April will be a month to get back into that. Especially since it's still chili here so sometimes it's still cool enough that I can cook for a long time without making our house too hot.

What are you doing this month?

Figuring it out one day at a time...
