Why we slept ON TOP of the tent...

I just hope I can write it as well as I could tell you if we were sitting together drinking something hot, and talking girl talk!

Mike and I had only been dating a few months when we decided to take a long road trip. We went from Wyoming to California and then up the Oregon coast and then back to Wyoming. We didn't have much money so we decided along the way that we would camp instead of getting hotel rooms.

We had already been together for about 4 days on a vacation with my family before this trip started.

It was our make or break trip. By the end of it we were going to know if we loved eachother or if we hated eachother.

This was a long trip...we hit a deer, got a flat tire in the redwood forest, and had to come home before our desired destination...

We got to California, had to get our flat tire fixed and find a place to camp, because by that time we really didn't have any money to get any more motel rooms. So we found a place, and we had borrowed a tent from Mikes parents. (Not a good idea!)

Mike had never put this tent up and it was one of the old school tents. Ya know the ones that have a hundered bars to put together, that have to cris cross just right and we couldn't figure it out. It was getting really dark, and after some argueing, and persuading, we decided to sleep on top of it since there was no way we were going to be able to fit in my car with all of our stuff. And mind you we tried for a good hour or two to put this tent up. Mike was the one who had to be persuaded to sleep under the stars in a crazy place...but I think he had fun!

In the morning we got in the car and headed up the Oregon coast...and then headed back down to Wyoming. We had to sleep on top of the tent again on our way home. The second camping place was a little scarier...we thought were going to get attacked by a dog... oh the good ole days...of having no babies and living on the edge...!!! lol

It sounds crazy, and I know it's not as funny in this post as it would be if I told you the story, but I didn't want to make this post 5 pages long! So

We had a make or break trip too! Ours was skiing in Colorado... thought our trip was not as event filled... we did lock our keys in a running car... and get lost in the mountains....

Figuring it out one day at a time...
