Halloween

Halloween isn't such a big deal to me, so I don't think about it very much. BUT, it's coming up very fast! So I am going to need to get on either ordering Marlee's costume, or making it...

What are your kids going to be for Halloween, or are you a procrastinator like me? Are you going to any fun parties yourself or do you just do the kid stuff? I have yet to decide if we are actually going out on Halloween...sometimes it brings the crazies out! :) If we do go out, I will probably make shift a costume that day...

Alissa is going to be Sleeping beauty. It was a cross between snow white and sleeping beauty, but since snow white doesn't haven't blonde hair Alissa changed her mind to Sleeping Beauty haha. We do have a halloween party to go to which means I have to find a costume for myself and my husband, but we usually wait until the last minute for that lol.

One of Dustin's coworkers usually throws a party so we go at least for a little while. Last year we did take Austin trick-or-treating, but only to a few homes of friends. Actually we called it trick-or-hugging because he couldn't have candy.
A friend of mine gave me a costume a couple of months ago that is a dragon, but I'm just not feeling into it and keep thinking that I hope it doesn't fit Austin so I have an excuse to get him a costume. I would just do that, but the friend's husband works with Dustin so they will be at the Halloween party we go to and it would be awkward to be like, yeah I just don't like your hand made costume, but if I could tell her, I really wanted to use it, but it was just too small it would be ok, KWIM?
We also always carve jack-o-lanterns for the front porch.

I have never been big into Halloween-- but the boys of course love the idea of CANDY! I do love Halloween decorations though ;) The boys are a transformer (Henry) and Buzzlightyear (Sam). they chose themselves this year and this is the EARLIEST I have ever got their costumes.

Devon is going to be a bumblebee. I love Halloween. The pumpkin patch, roasting pumpkin seeds, the fall leaves changing all the while! This whole last few months of the year are some of my favorite. The only annoying thing is living in Washington State, we get a lot of rain :( I think it will get more fun for us as the kiddo's get older, too.

I figured anything with a lot of props...hat, mask, etc...was just going to make Jackson mad. So I got him a spiderman costume at the thrift store for like 5 bucks!

I have a ladybug costume for Jasmine and I want to find something for Cruz. We don't have any plans yet though. We definitely aren't going trick-or-treating but maybe to party if something comes up... d

I love Halloween, so I've gone a bit overboard! lol ... Baby has 2 costumes: a butterfly from The Children's Place (super great sale there right now, by the way) and a Lady Bug from Carter's. We also have at least half a dozen festive onsies and shirts and hats. Starting tomorrow with a pumpkin patch and a kitty cat hat! lol ... I'm a little obsessed.

Molly LOVES to dress up, so she has so much fun. This year she decided she wants to be a pirate, it was hard to find a nice, cute, girly 3 year old pirate costume, but I think I did and I am just sewing a few things for it. Since Nora can't pick for herself yet, I am making her a parrot, hehe, to go with the pirate costume. :) We go with the girls cousins to my moms on Halloween to carve pumpkins, eat and let them go to a few houses. And that weekend we have a Harry Potter Halloween party with friends. Ha! I am a dork, but it is SO fun!

Figuring it out one day at a time...
