The best ever...

Oreo truffles...

These are SUPER easy to make, and they make over 3 dozen...

1 package oreo cookies
1 package chocolate chips
1 package cream cheese
1-2 TBS shortening

Put oreos into a food processor, and chop til they are finely ground (like coffee grounds)
Add cream cheese, blend til mixed
roll into 1/2 " balls
chill

Melt chocolate and shortening, in microwave or on top of the oven (I liked the oven method), then roll balls into chocolate. Put on wax paper. then refridgerate, or freeze.

***If you want to get fancy, add sprinkles while the chocolate is still warm, or you can put them in the fridge and melt white chocolate adding food coloring (DO NOT use the liquid kind, you have to use the cake decorating kind...like a gel, because the chocolate will curdle) and then using a spoon sprinkle it over the top making fun designs...

These are so yummy, you will have to take them to other people or you will eat them all by yourself! I made some plain, and some mint using different oreos. :)

I am linking up to Amy's round robin. Go on over and check it out! Also, it's not too late to add your own post to the mix!

I made the same things last year but without the shortening. They're also good dipped in white chocolate and they're fun to decorate. Some of the best cookies e.v.e.r!!

Okay, creepy. I was just talking with my friend, Tara, who gave me this recipe. Like, just now. She dips hers in Almond Bark. I'm going to make these next week for a Christmas party! :)

I bought regular and double stuffed ... which would you suggest for this recipe? I'm so excited! I also got regular choc. chips and white chocolate so the sprinkles show up better. :)

Figuring it out one day at a time...
