How many of you Mom's out there had their water break at home..or in public?
I know, I jumped right into that one...but when I had Marlee, I got induced, and they broke my water. And MOST people I have talked to have had their water break at the hospital-by the doctor, even though they went into labor and had contractions on their own.
So I just want to know, if I am at the store, or at music, story time or any of those other places, and my water breaks, is it going to look like I actually peed my pants...as in A LOT of water, or is it going to be just a little bit?
I thought the 2nd time around, I would feel more prepared. I don't. I feel just as crazy as before, only I know what it feels like to actually have the baby. Otherwise, I am going with: I need diapers, wipes, clothes and blankets, and of course the car seat. Everything else will fall into place.
For myself...I am figuring whatever I forget Mike can come home to get pretty easily since we live about 5 minutes from the hospital. And I'll have to be there for a few days.
What was a must have in your bag for the hospital?

My water hasn't ever broken early, thankfully. As far as how much, I think it depends on if it completely breaks or not. It will make for an interesting story if you get a big gush at story time. :)
Sounds like you're ready!!! I think feeling crazy is normal. I didn't pack much last time. We also lived 5 minutes away and the hospital provided everything for the baby, except a take home outfit.
Mine was at the hospital, so I don't know. If you are really worried about it when you go out maybe you could wear a pad just in case. It may not get it all, but it might help it not be a huge wet spot or even puddle.
Why will you be in the hospital a couple of days, do you need a c-section this time?
Good luck, I can't wait to see your little man!
I was induced both times so my water was broke at the hospital. I always thought it would be pretty funny if my water broke in public.
As far as packing for the hospital, I've learned that for my baby all I really needed was the car seat, baby book, maybe a couple gowns and a going home outfit since blankets, diapers, wipes, t-shirts, caps and socks are provided by the hospital.
For myself I really over packed both times. All I really needed was lots of comfy pants, shirts, socks, nursing bras, basic shower stuff, basic cosmetics, and maybe a book or a laptop. I think I just had a pair of flip-flops with me both times.. no other shoes. I personally liked having my hair dryer and straightener too but I know that's not a must have for everyone.
And of course cameras, cellphones and chargers! And yummy snacks. :)
I didn't get a chance to bring anything for Hayley. She was an emergency c so I didn't even know I was in labor. Both times, my water never broke. WIth Zane, I was overly prepared but didn't need much at all. My philosophy is less is more. So excited for you!
